Our Services
T for Talk Speech & Language Services offers a wide variety of services for children birth to 15. We are considered an out-of-network provider, therefore our services are not covered, in network, by insurance agencies. T for Talk Speech & Language Services does not bill insurance companies directly, however we will provide you will a super bill with accurate CPT and diagnosis codes, applicable for your family member, to assist you in the reimbursement of your claim. Be advised that each insurance plan is unique, therefore you should contact your insurance plans directly to seek plan coverage and reimbursement percentages. Our treatment costs are due at the time of treatment or in advance of your treatment session. Our services are provided throughout South Orange County, in your home environment, daycare centers or private schools. Weekly communication is provided to update families on the progress in therapy, updates on goals, and any home program activities.
Consultation: brief (15-20 minute) phone call, email conversation or private school screening offered to parents, free of charge, to help families decide if their child is in need of speech or language therapy.
Evaluation: longer (typically 1-2 hours), formal, standardized assessment of all areas of speech and language skills including; speech, language, oral motor, fluency, voice, resonance, and pragmatic skills. Will typically consist of standardized tests that will give standard scores and age-equivalents. Treatment plans and goals will be determined from evaluation.
Treatment: 30 and 60 minute sessions, 1 or 2 times per week targeting goals based on the evaluation results. Sessions are play based, and tailored to meet the individual needs of the patient and family. Duration of therapy is dependent on patient’s progress on goals and follow through on home program materials.
OrofacIal Myofunctional Therapy Program: The orofacial myofunctional therapy program is an intense, research-based program designed by the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is an interdisciplinary practice that works with the muscles of the lips, tongue, cheeks and face and their related functions (such as breathing, sucking, chewing, swallowing, and some aspects of speech. The treatment program consists of 3 phases; Intensive Phase (approximately 8 weeks), Generalization/Maintenance Phase (approximately every 2-3 weeks for 4 months), Habituation Phase (approximately 1x per month until the year is complete). These approximations are dependent on the complexity of the case, age of the patient and compliance. Please contact us to inquire about program fee.
Habit Elimination Program: The Habit Elimination Program, designed by the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, assists to eliminate common noxious oral habits such as thumb/finger sucking. The treatment program is approximately 30+ days and consists of an introductory appointment, daily phone calls, a one-week appointment and a celebration appointment. Regional Center of Orange County
If your child is under 3 years old and is exhibiting developmental delays, including speech and/or language delay, he or she may qualify for services with the Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC). Funded by the federal government, this early intervention program is called "Early Start" in California. T for Talk Speech & Language Services is a vendor of the Regional Center of Orange County (Vendor # PM 1423) and provides speech and language evaluations and ongoing treatment on a contract basis. Referral to the Regional Center of Orange County can be made by a parent or health care professional. Where are services provided?
Services are provided in the families home or the child’s preschool or daycare center. We feel as though we effectively meet the needs of each family.
How much will therapy cost?
Regional Center of Orange County Families:
If your child is eligible for Regional Center of Orange County, payment will initially be submitted to private insurance or paid by the State California if the insurance does not cover services.
Private Pay: Rates include travel time (up to 30 minutes total) and preparation
Services are available on a private pay basis. Our treatment costs are due at the time of treatment or in advance of your treatment session.
60 minute treatment sessions equate to 50 minutes of direct treatment and 5-10 minutes of feedback for parents or professionals working directly with the client. The fee is $144.00 per 60 minute session.
30 minute treatment sessions equate to 25 minutes of direct treatment and 5 minutes of feedback for parents or professionals working directly with the client. The fee is $87.00 per 30 minute session.
Travel time exceeding 30 minutes will be billed at $36 for each additional 15-minute increment
How much will an evaluation cost?
Regional Center of Orange County Families:
Regional Center of Orange County will cover the costs of your child’s evaluation if they are eligible. Please reach out to the Regional Center of Orange County Early Start Intake and Assessment Unit to determine if your child is eligible for services 714-796-5354.
Private Pay Assessments: Rates include travel time (up to 30 minutes total), testing, scoring and report
Articulation only assessment for specific sound errors - $350
Birth to Age 3:11; Evaluation of Receptive and Expressive Language (up to 1.5 hours) - $550
Birth to Age 3:11; Evaluation of Receptive and Expressive Language WITH formal evaluation of articulation (up to 2.0 hours) - $650
Children Ages 4 and older; Evaluation of Receptive and Expressive Language WITHOUT articulation (up to 3 hours & conducted over 2 separate days) - $750
Children ages 4 and older; Evaluation of Receptive and Expressive Language WITH formal evaluation of articulation (up to 4 hours & conducted over 2 separate days) - $950
